your work is amazing.
I just have one thing to say: from what I read on wiki, he seems like a truly vicious and maleficent character.
And from what you did, he looks more like a huge mad reptilian dragon. But he doesn't look that "evil minded" if I may say.
I dunno If it does make sense... To be fair your skills are just crazy good, so I hope you don't take this the wrong way.
Anyway, that's an awesome piece of work ;)

Almost makes me think of the kaijus from Pacific Rim. Which makes sense, since Glaurung dwarfed Smaug by a significant margin...!

Tolkien's dragons are so hard to find well-drawn pictures of and sometimes we just need a good visual to bring his descriptions to life. Well done on providing both! :)
